The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department is investigating

an act of vandalism at a property on Rosson Road in Leoma after the wires to an air conditioning unit were reportedly cut.

Officials say the unit was functioning properly about a month ago but was found damaged on the morning of September 7, 2025. The estimated damage is over $1,000, with replacement costs potentially between $6,000 and $8,000.

The property owner noted that vandalism has occurred on the property before.
