Following a traffic stop a Lawrence County man was arrested on drug charges by the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.

 

 

During the Labor Day Holiday the Wayne County Sheriff's Department conducted a traffic stop after noticing that a Lawrence County man had failed to properly stop at a stop sign.

The driver of the vehicle, Newton, 48, of Lawrenceburg was discovered to be driving on a revoked license where a search of the vehicle was conducted.

Newton was found to be in possession of a small baggie containing methamphetamine, a glass pipe, and 3 syringes.

The suspect was transported to the Wayne County Jail where he will face charges for the methamphetamine that he was in possession of along with drug paraphernalia, and driving on a revoked license.
