Two residents report thefts during medical emergencies

Two residents report thefts during medical emergenciesTwo different residents reported to Lawrenceburg Police officers last week that they had been targetedby thieves while away from home on a medical emergency.

During the first incident, the sixty-five year old North Mahr Avenue resident reported that he had left his home around 8:30 that night because there was a medical emergency involving his wife. He said when he left he accidentally left his Lenovo laptop computer on his porch. When the man returned later in the evening he discovered that it had been stolen.

The computer was valued at $550.In the second incident, reported on Wednesday by a May Street resident, the victim explained that he had been transported by ambulance from his home to the hospital at around 3:00 p.m. several days prior.

When he returned to his home, he discovered that someone had cut a screen and raised an unlocked bedroom window in order to gain illegal entry

. Stolen were three firearms, including a Colt Commander Model 1911 .45 caliber, Colt .380 semi-automatic handgun, and a Russian Makarov 9x18 mm handgun. All three were stolen from the bedroom. Altogether, loss was estimated to be $1,550.
