Frito-Lay employee killed by stray gunfire while working in Sam’s Club

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was killed in an overnight shooting in Antioch, and police are searching for those responsible.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the incident took place shortly after 4 a.m.

A bullet from gunfire on Antioch Pike went through a side metal wall of the Sam’s Club in the 1300 block of Antioch Pike and struck a 55-year-old man who was working in the chip aisle inside the store, police said.

Police later identified the victim as Paris Carlock, of Murfreesboro. Carlock, a Frito-Lay employee, was reportedly conducting a product inventory inside the Sam’s Club when the bullet struck him in the head.

Officers on the scene told News 2 Carlock was found by first responders in the store’s parking lot. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.An investigation by the MNPD Homicide Unit is ongoing. Police said the investigation thus far shows gunfire on Antioch Pike around the time of the shooting is connected to an argument that began inside Lavou Lounge, which is located nearby the Sam’s Club.According to police, individuals inside the bar were removed by security, and the argument continued outside. Police said shots were heard as multiple vehicles wer eleaving the bar.
