The Loretto Police Department on September 3rd arrested Robert Timothy Lance for Aggravated Assault.
A contractor pressure washing at Weather's Park reported that Lance approached him around 10am and began harassing him by impeding his work and videoing him with a cellphone.
During the incident Lance retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and threatened the contractor. The contractor left and called police.
While being arrested and booked, Lance made several statements threatening the Mayor, City Manager, Aldermen, and Police Chief. Lance was also charged with making Terrorist Threats as a result of these statements.
A search warrant was obtained and executed at Lance’s residence where the firearm used in the assault and others were seized.
Lance was booked into the Lawrence County Jail and has a $110,000 bond with a first appearance in General Sessions set for October.
Officers were assisted by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, St. Joseph Police Department, Constables Randy Tucker and Tony Lancaster.
Lance is innocent until proven guilty.
