The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners met in special session Thursday evening to consider several procedural items for the upcoming term.

Commissioners selected County Executive T.R. Williams to be the chairman of the commission and selected Commissioner Chris D. Jackson as chairman pro-tem.

Commissionersalso set membership for several key committees including the budget, purchasing, non-profit and tourism committees.

Membership for the budget committee included County Executive T.R. Williams and commissioners Jeff Hughes, Shane Eaton, Nathan Keeton and Scott Franks. 

Commissioners will meet in regular session the 29th of this month to consider other items of business including the passage of the FY 2014-2015 budget.
