Subject: Structure Fire Respons

Shortly after 4:45 this afternoon Lawrence County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the West End Fire District.

Approximately 7 minutes later our personnel from the West End, Gandy, Ethridge, and Henryville Stations arrived on scene to find an approximately 1750 sq ft residence with heavy fire conditions.

An aggressive interior fire attack, and search was initiated as additional units arrived on scene to set up a water shuttle operation. Fire crews were able to stop the progress of the fire, and verify that no one was trapped inside the residence.

The fire was brought under control and no injuries have been reported. Our personnel remain on the scene conducting salvage and overhaul operations as well as determining the origin and cause of the fire.

As a result of the fire two families (four adults and 1 child) have been displaced. We ask that you keep these families in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through the next several days. We are working with local organizations to ensure that the affected families have what they need until a more permanent solution can be achieved.

Responding LCFR Fire stations include Stations 1,2,3,6,11,13, and Box 50 Responder Services. We appreciate the assistance from Lawrence County E-911, EMA, and EMS.

Note: The attached video clip of the initial fire attack illustrates the interior crew making a push to bring the fire under control while personnel out of view of the video worked to establish and maintain the needed water supply. The photos and video were released with the consent of the homeowners.
