The 22nd Judicial District Attorney's Office and the TBI are currently investigating the death of an inmate at the Giles County Jail.

 

According to the Giles County Sheriff's Department they released the following statement on Friday regarding a call of an unresponsive inmate:
"On the evening of Thursday, August 27, 2020, the Giles County Emergency Medical Services were called to the Giles County jail in reference to an unresponsive male inmate. 

Billy Ray Robbins was transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems of Pulaski, TN where he was later pronounced deceased. 

No further details can be released at this time as the case in under investigation by the 22nd Judicial District Attorney's Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation."
