The Maury County Fire Department was dispatched over the weekend around 3:00a.m. to a tractor trailer fire on I-65 Northbound at mile marker 42.

Units with Engines 7 & 10, Tankers 1 & 3, & District Chief 1 all responded to the tractor trailer that was reported to be carrying 45,000 pounds of sugar.

Upon arrival units found the trailer heavily involved, but luckily the driver had previously disconnected his tractor from the trailer that was on fire which prevented further damage or injuries.

Crews worked for nearly a hour and a half to safely extinguish the blaze which at this time no further details have been released as to what caused the fire.
