Giles County Sheriff's Department announced breaking news regarding a 29 year old homicide case.

 

According to the Giles County Sheriff's Department on August 29th the 22nd Judicial District Office reached a plea agreement on a 29 year old cold case involving Larry Hughes of Pulaski, Tennessee who was reported missing on March 28th 1990.

A plea agreement was reached with Mary Ann Hughes, 72, pleading guilty on charges of
voluntary manslaughter in the Circuit Court of Giles County, Tennessee

Sheriff Kyle Helton spoke on the cold case plea agreement by saying, “I would like to praise all Agencies, Staff, Officers and Investigators involved in the countless amount of hours, days and years spent investigating this incident. It is not frequent that 29 year old cold cases, such as the tragic death of Mr. Larry Hughes, have positive results. However, I again, would like to commend all parties involved on their determined efforts to reach justice for Mr. Larry Hughes and family.”
