A crash involving an ambulance and a motorcycle left one person dead and multiple injured in Putnam County, Tennessee.

On Wednesday morning around 10:20 a.m. on Willow Avenue in Cookeville a Putnam County ambulance was transporting a patient non-emergently when a motorcycle hit the rear of the ambulance.

According to county officials, the ambulance crew and patient were taken to Cookeville Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The motorcyclist was in critical condition and transported to the medical center.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary report of the crash, the motorcyclist later died.
