Subject: Residential Structure Fire

On 8/26/2026 at approximately 11:42 AM Lawrence County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the West End Fire District.
Our first unit arrived on scene within 5 minutes of the call being dispatched to find a mobile home with smoke and flames visible from the windows and roof line on one side of the home.
An aggressive interior attack was initiated. Our personnel were able to quickly extinguish the fire before it could spread past the area of origin. The home did sustain extensive smoke and heat damage.
No injuries were reported. The home was equipped with working smoke alarms that did alert the occupants that the home was on fire.
As a result of this incident the family has been displaced from their home. The owner of the home has served as a volunteer at the West End Fire Station for quite some time. We ask that you keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this process.
