Gobble Sentenced to 45 Years for Attempted Murder of Mother

Lawrence County resident Nicholas Heath Gobble was sentenced Friday to 45 years in prison on an attempted second-degree murder conviction.

Gobble was convicted last year in the July 2023 assault of his 64-year-old mother. She told investigators that she asked him to help her pay the utility bill and he flew into a rage.

She sustained 8 broken ribs in the beating along with bruises, lacerations and a brain bleed. Gobble will be required to serve 100 percent of his sentence.
