On Saturday NASA reported that an asteroid is headed toward Earth one day before the U.S. Election Day this year, but also stated that the chances of an impact are less than 1 percent.

The asteroid has been labeled by Scientists as 2018VP1, and according to the data released the asteroid has a diameter is 0.002 kilometers, or about 6.5 feet.

The asteroid is expected to pass Earth on November 2nd which is the day before Election Day in the United States.

NASA shared the following statement on their social media by NASA asteroid watch, "Asteroid 2018VP1 is very small, approx. 6.5 feet, and poses no threat to Earth! It currently has a 0.41% chance of entering our planet’s atmosphere, but if it did, it would disintegrate due to its extremely small size."
