Deputies Recover Motorcycle Stolen From Maury County
Local authorities recovered a stolen motorcycle Wednesday after being asked by Maury County authorities to check for it at a Mt. Ararat Road home.
Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that they were contacted by members of the Columbia Police Department around 4:15 p.m. Officers there reported that a black, 1998 Honda CBR900 motorcycle had been stolen from Columbia home. Officers there had received a tip that it might be in possession of a resident of 2904 South Mt. Ararat Road.
Deputies made their way to the home and report making contact with a female resident. She indicated that a male subject who lived at the home had sold a black motorcycle to his brother, who resides with his mother in St. Joseph.
Deputies made their way to the Beartown Road home and spoke with the mother. She confirmed that her son had bought the motorcycle from his brother, but said that it was at her mother’s home on McCrory Road. When he went to that home, the deputy reports he found the motorcycle in question.
The motorcycle was towed to the department’s Criminal Investigation Division to be picked up by the owner the following day.
