Tuesday Night Crash Claims Life Of Waynesboro Man
A crash that occurred Tuesday night near the Lawrence/Wayne County line involving a motorcycle, claimed the life of a young Waynesboro man.
According to reports filed through the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. at the U.S. Highway 64/Buttermilk Ridge Road intersection.
Reports show that Elijah J. Edwards, 26, of 280 Kilburn Hollow Road, Waynesboro, was traveling westbound on Highway 64 on a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle. Mikeal T. Gobble, 41, of 9660 Buttermilk Ridge Road was eastbound on Highway 64 in a 1995 Dodge truck.
Investigating troopers report that Gobble attempted to turn onto Buttermilk Ridge Road, crossing into the path of Edwards. This caused Edward's motorcycle to impact the passenger side of the truck.
Edwards died as a result of injuries he sustained in the crash.
