Lawrenceburg Budget Up For Second Vote Thursday

   The financial plan under which leaders with the City of Lawrenceburg plan to operate throughout the 2008-2009 fiscal year will be considered for final approval during a meeting scheduled for Thursday.

   A public hearing on the city’s budget ordinance is scheduled to take place beginning at 8:30 a.m., during the regular bi-monthly business meeting of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council.
   In addition to the budget ordinance, commissioners will hold a vote to establish the 2008-2009 property tax rate. The board proposes lowering the property tax rate for city residents by .05%, from the current rate of $1.54 to $1.49.

   The 8:30 a.m. meeting, which is open to the public, will be held Thursday, August 14, 2008, inside the commission meeting room of the Lawrenceburg City Administration Building.
