A SUCCESSFUL FEW DAYS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY
Lawrence County Executive David Morgan had a productive couple of days connecting with our community and supporting local projects:
SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATION UPGRADES
Visited with Solid Waste Director Gary Wayne Hyde to check on progress at the Solid Waste Transfer Station. Summertown Construction, which won the contract, is hard at work refurbishing the station to better serve residents.
CELEBRATING LOCAL GENEROSITY THROUGH SHRINERS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL PHILANTHROPIC SOCIETY LUNCHEON
Attended a recognition luncheon at Keestone honoring Betty Bush, a former Lawrence County Property Board member, for her generous donation to Shriners Children’s Hospital in honor of her late father. Representatives from the hospital came to personally thank her for this meaningful contribution. Executive Morgan also enjoyed catching up with her stepson, Bennett Bush, a longtime friend from high school, former LCSS teacher, and a local attorney.
PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE IN SUMMERTOWN
Visited a potential site for a Northern Solid Waste Convenience Center in partnership with the Lawrence County School System—an exciting step toward expanding services for our northern communities.
NEW SUMMERTOWN FOOTBALL FIELD
Stopped by the brand-new Summertown football field as it gets ready for its first kickoff—another great addition to our community!
It’s been a week of progress, celebration, and planning for the future here in Lawrence County.
