The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) has announced two sobriety checkpoints scheduled for Friday, August 8, as part of its continued efforts to combat impaired driving and promote roadway safety.
Checkpoints will be conducted at the following locations:
Lincoln County: U.S. Highway 64 at the 15.7 mile marker near Wilson Parkway
Lawrence County: State Route 98 at the 5.5 mile marker
THP troopers will be screening drivers for signs of impairment, checking for valid licenses, and ensuring compliance with safety laws. The checkpoint locations were selected based on crash statistics and DUI-related incidents in the area.
Motorists traveling through these areas are advised to drive safely, remain patient during brief delays, and never drive under the influence.
