Authorities Discover Remains Of Another Meth Lab
Local authorities discovered the apparent remains of yet another meth lab in recent days; this one in the St. Joseph area.
Members of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Crime Suppression Unit were dispatched to an area on Bluff Road recently after a deputy received a tip from a property owner regarding potential manufacture of methamphetamine in the area.
Once deputy Zach Newton confirmed the items were likely components of a meth manufacturing operation he summoned members of the unit to the scene.
Various components of a meth lab were scattered about the property in several locations. Reports filed through the department show that deputies found two shake bottles on the property along with a gas generator, tubing, one pound of salt, empty boxes of Claritin D, coffee filters, funnels, a roll of aluminum foil, and homemade fittings.
Team members worked the scene, documenting all evidence before turning it over to the HAZMAT team with which the county contracts for local hazardous materials cleanup, such as meth labs.
