Shooting Incident Under Investigation

On July 29, 2025, at approximately 10:00 PM, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a shooting near Self’s Market off Highway 64. Upon arrival, deputies and EMS personnel located a male victim who had sustained injuries from a shotgun.

EMS immediately began providing medical treatment, while deputies worked to gather details surrounding the incident. The victim was later transported by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Medical Center, where he is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

Deputies identified another male individual as the suspected shooter. An arrest has been made in connection with the case. However, the investigation remains ongoing.
