A Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy arrested a Lauderdale County driver following a pursuit where the reckless suspect threw beer cans throughout the chase.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to the intersection of Big Cypress Road, and the Natchez Trace in regards to a male subject who had been loitering in the area for several hours.

Upon arrival the driver identified as Joshua Lawrence of Florence, Alabama fled from the deputy where a pursuit immediately ensued.

During the chase reports indicate that Lawrence was throwing beer cans out his window along with nearly running two vehicles, and a log truck off the roadway.

Just when the Deputy thought the reckless driver was coming to a stop along Weatherford Creek Road the suspect threw his vehicle into reverse, and slammed into the Deputy at full speed.

Lawrence then took off evading the Deputy once more, and even attempted the same maneuver throughout the continued chase.

Eventually the pursuit ended when Lawrence drove through a field, and finally came to a stop after crashing into a tree.

The Deputy apprehended Lawrence who is now facing charges of felony evading arrest, reckless endangerment, aggravated assualt, driving under the influence, and driving on a revoked license.

The suspect was transported to the Wayne County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
