Certification Of The County’s Correctional Facility
Sheriff Kenny Taylor is proud to announce that after 4 years of prisoner transports, temporary jails and construction of a new jail facility, the new jail is fully certified.
Inspector Miller Meadows of the Tennessee Corrections Institute said the jail passed with “flying colors.”
Sheriff Taylor commends the Jail Administrator and staff for their diligence and dedication to the task at hand in providing Lawrence County with a correctional facility that is second to none.
The certification of the jail is a very important accomplishment. This certification ensures lower insurance rates, qualifies the sheriff’s office to apply for additional state and federal grants and enables us to contract with state and federal facilities to house inmates which would generate revenue back to our county coffers. Overall, it is an accomplishment all Lawrence Countians should be proud of.”
