A recent investigation by the Giles County Sheriff Department led to the arrest of Jarred Ferrell for one count of Aggravated Child Abuse,
six counts of Aggravated Assault (Domestic Violence related) and two counts of Domestic Assault.
Along with causing physical harm, domestic violence can lead to many other problems, including depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Abuse does not happen randomly; it follows a pattern.
Abuse tends to escalate and it is a choice made by the abuser to maintain power and control. The escalation of abuse is dangerous and can lead to increased injury, harm and even death. Victims of abuse may feel trapped, confused and ashamed which makes it difficult to leave the relationship.
