Resident Bitten By Neighbor’s Dog
A Summertown woman was transported to a Maury County hospital Tuesday after being bitten by her neighbor’s dog.
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the victim’s home at 1505 Turnpike, around 5:30 p.m. They report that the victim was being prepped for transport to Maury Regional Hospital.
The victim said that she had been walking her dogs in front of her home when her neighbor’s Pit Bull dog attacked her dogs. She said that while she was attempting to separate them the dog bit her on the right ankle, causing lacerations.
The owner, 44, told deputies that the same neighbor had come to his home before he left for work to inform him his dog had broken his collar and gotten loose.
He said the neighbor said she would put her dogs inside her house and keep his dog in her fence yard until he returned home from work. The dog, however, was able to crawl under the fence and escape.
The owner was advised to keep the dog contained in the future.
