SCAM ALERT – IMPERSONATION OF MAURY COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

The Maury County Sheriff’s Department is alerting the public to an active scam in which individuals are falsely representing themselves as deputies or personnel from our agency.

These scammers may call you claiming there is a warrant for your arrest, that you missed jury duty, or that you must pay a fine to avoid legal action. THIS IS A SCAM.

Please be advised of the following:
• We will NEVER ask for money over the phone.
• We will NEVER request payment to avoid arrest.
• We will NEVER demand gift cards, wire transfers, or other forms of payment.

If you receive a call from someone claiming to be with the Maury County Sheriff’s Department, do not provide any personal information or make any payment.
Instead, hang up immediately and call our official main line at (931) 388-5151 to verify the legitimacy of the call.

Your safety and security are our top priority. Please help us spread the word to protect your family, friends, and neighbors — especially those who may be more vulnerable to these types of scams.

If you have already received a suspicious call or believe you may have been targeted, please report it to us right away.
