Maury County Fire Department was dispatched to a rollover wreck involving a concrete truck where extraction was needed.

Maury County Fire Department released the following information and photos:

"At 5:15 this morning MCFD was dispatched to Hardison Mill Rd for a concrete truck rollover with possible entrapment.

During response, D&D Towing was placed on standby due to the nature of the accident. Upon arrival units found a complex entrapment that would require additional resources. MCFD requested D&D Towing to respond to the scene along with Franklin Fire Department’s USAR Truck.

Due to the possibility of needing to cut large trees that were precariously entangled in the truck and other trees from the impact, Mike’s Tree Service along with Maury County Highway Department were requested to also respond to the scene.

The concrete truck was lifted vertically off of the impacted tree by D and D Towing to allow for members to push the dash, seat, and other components away from the patient. After approximately 3 hours of strenuous work by all members of the various agencies on scene, the patient was freed and flown to a trauma center for further evaluation of apparent non-life threatening injuries.

We would like to personally thank D and D towing for their timely response. Without their skill and equipment we would have not been able to free the patient.

We would also like to thank Mike’s Tree Service for responding and being available with their expertise in the event they were needed along with Maury County Highway Department.

Special thanks to Franklin Fire Department for their specialized equipment and additional rescue technicians they provided on scene.

We appreciate Maury 911 for fulfilling several requests by MCFD for additional resources and contacting various agencies to respond.

Without the coordination and willingness of public and private agencies to come together and work hand in hand, allowing for each other to contribute their expertise where needed, the already lengthy incident would have been even longer.

Agencies on scene: Maury Regional EMS, Air Evac, VUMC Lifeflight, TN Highway Patrol, MCSO, Maury County Highway Department, Maury County OEM’s Rehab Bus, MCFD, FFD."
