TDOT workers narrowly miss hit and run accident in Lawrence County after a driver side swiped their equipment.

 

According to reports the incident took place Saturday night around 12:00a.m. where Tennessee Department of Transportation workers had been dispatched to West Point Road in response to water damage from earlier storms.

While the crews were working a motorist side swiped their equipment which resulted in one worker having to jump from his machinery to prevent being hit by the passing vehicle.

Lawrence County Emergency personnel were called to the scene where luckily none of the TDOT workers were reported to be injured during the incident.

At this time the Tennessee Highway Patrol are investigating the accident where the individual believed to be responsible has been apprehended.
