Subject: Residential Structure Fire

Shortly after 12PM today Lawrence County Fire Rescue Units were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the New Prospect Fire District. Our incident commander arrived on scene in less than 5 minutes of the call, immediately followed by an automatic aid Engine Company package from Lawrenceburg Fire, and a LCFR Engine.

First arriving units found smoke showing from multiple levels of the residence as well as visible fire. An aggressive interior attack was immediately initiated. Additional units arrived on scene to assist with water supply and suppression efforts. At the time of the release our units remain on scene investigating the origin and cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.

Damage to the home was kept to a minimum due to rapid and aggressive extinguishment efforts. This call is a testament to the value of an Automatic Aid Agreement between Lawrence County Fire Rescue and the City of Lawrenceburg Fire Department.

The automatic aid agreement between the two agencies focuses on getting the closest appropriate units to the scene of the fire whether it be in the City or the County in the zones covered by the agreement.

The agreement is especially beneficial to us during the daytime hours Monday through Friday while the majority of our volunteers are at work at their primary jobs. By working as a team our agencies are much more effective.
