Saint Joseph Police Dept

Units were dispatched to South Old Military Road in St.Joseph

this evening near the state line at Little Bluewater in reference to a suspicious device. An off duty Lauderdale County officer located the device while riding through the area.

The area was made safe and secured with assistance of the Loretto PD, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dept, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Dept, Lawrence County EMA, Southeast Fire and Rescue,

Lawrence County Fire and Rescue, and the Lawrence County Ambulance Service. Florence PD Bomb Squad responded and disabled the device making the area safe.

Evidence was collected and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information concerning the device is encouraged to contact law enforcement.
