Lawrence County Firefighters were dispatched to a large sawmill fire late Monday night.

Lawrence County Fire and Rescue released the following information and photos:

At approximately 10:30PM on 7-15-2024 Lawrence County Fire Rescue Units were dispatched to a large sawmill fire in the Ethridge Fire District.

Ethridge Fire units arrived first and reported heavy fire conditions and involvement of two 500 gallon diesel fuel tanks on site.

The fire was brought under control rather quickly as the result of an aggressive fire attack coupled with a large scale water shuttle operation.

Several fire units remain on the scene. A full release will be issued by the Ethridge Fire Department."
