Guilty Plea Entered In Statutory Rape Case
A Lawrenceburg resident who had been indicted on charges of statutory rape entered a guilty plea on Monday.
Brent Luther Blasingim entered the plea in Lawrence County Circuit Court Monday morning after waiving his right to a trial by jury. He entered best interest guilty pleas to one count of aggravated statutory rape and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor.
The plea agreement dictates that Blasingim serve a three year, split sentence on each of the two charges, with the sentences to run concurrently. He is to serve six months incarcerated and the remainder on parole.
The charges stemmed from alleged inappropriate sexual contact Blasingim had with an underage child between March 1 and April 23 of 2013
