GILES COUNTY VAPE SHOP RAIDED AFTER “COCOLATE BARS” HOSPITALIZE MAN

On Sunday, July 7, deputies of the Giles County Sheriff's Department responded to a call
for a potential overdose. Deputies found a male subject in a state of extreme mental
distress who was suffering from severe self-inflicted bodily injury and blood loss. The man
was treated by Giles County EMS and hospitalized.
Deputies found that the subject had consumed ‘Diamond Shruumz’ and ‘WZRDZ Jokes Up’
chocolate bars (photos attached) that he purchased the previous day at Cloud Master
Smoke and Vape Shop in Pulaski, TN. Hours after consuming these products, the man
became ill. Eventually, the man began to suffer from seizures and ultimately harmed
himself due to the ingested substance. (see attached body cam pictures)
The ‘Diamond Shruumz’ products were subject to a recall by the Food and Drug
Administration on June 28, 2024, due to reports linking them to 46 hospitalizations and 1
death. Deputies submitted the ‘Jokes Up’ product that the man consumed to the TBI for
presumptive testing. That testing indicated that the product contained Psilocybin, a
Schedule I substance that is illegal in the State of Tennessee.
Deputies determined that the business was still selling the recalled mushroom products.
Based on this information, and with support from the Pulaski Police Department, the
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Food and Drug Administration, deputies
executed a search warrant at the business on July 10, 2024. Deputies seized the chocolate
bars in question, as well as other illegal substances found during the search.
All of the items seized will be sent to the TBI for further testing. The FDA is investigating the sale and resulting harm of the Diamond Shruumz products nationwide.
The District Attorney's office strongly advises the public to dispose of these products if you
currently have them, and to refrain from buying or consuming them if they are still on store
shelves. Contact emergency services if you or someone you know consumes these
    product
