Owners Pull Zoning Vote From Agenda
Owners of a parcel of property inside the Lawrenceburg city limits, who had sought a zoning change in order to establish a commercial chicken barn/business, have requested that the item be removed from the agenda for Thursday’s meeting of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council.
Council members had been slated to hold a public hearing and vote on the zoning issue regarding property situated on O’Henry Drive, during their July 14th business meeting.
Several residents of the community turned out when the matter was brought up for first reading during the council’s June 23 meeting. Several addressed the council, expressing concern that, should the business be established there, it might pose a public health hazard as well as possible contamination to nearby Shoal Creek
City leaders announced Monday that property owners had requested the matter be removed from the agenda entirely. They reported that the owners, “no longer wish to pursue the rezoning of their property at this time.”
The public hearing on the matter has been canceled.
