Shoplifted Soda Lands Man In Court
A Lawrenceburg man will be required to appear in court after he was allegedly caught shoplifting a soda from a grocery store.
Lawrenceburg Police Officers dispatched to Super Rama, 818 North Locust Avenue, around 2:00 p.m. Sunday were informed that a man had stolen items, then fled from the store.
Employees were able to provide officers with a description of the suspect. Officers quickly located the man walking east along Fifth Street. He was escorted back to the store, where employees were able to offer a positive identification.
Officers report that the suspect, 21-year-old Shawn Thomas Hogan of 132 Tennessee Circle, West Point, confessed to stealing a Mountain Dew drink, valued at $1.39.
While employees reported that Hogan had stolen other items, they could not identify what the items were. Officers noted that no other items were recovered.
Hogan was issued a citation, charging him with the crime of shoplifting. He is slated to answer the charge through Lawrenceburg City Court on July 27.
