MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway after a toddler drowned in a Maury County body of water Monday afternoon.
Maury County EMS, the Maury County Sheriff’s Office and the Maury County Emergency Management Agency responded to a call related to a missing child at about 4:11 p.m. near the Blue Springs recreation area, according to the Maury County Fire Department.
The child, around 2 years old, was found deceased in the Duck River after a brief search, according to the MCSO. Adults and several other children were at the recreation area at the time of the incident, the MCSO added.
An investigation into the drowning is ongoing. No further details were immediately released.
