Burglar Alarm Alerts Authorities To Break-In
The sounding of a burglar alarm alerted a resident and law enforcement officials that a home on Seventh Street had been burglarized in the early hours Saturday.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched after the alarm was tripped around 2:40 a.m. The resident reported he had been awakened by the alarm.
Officers found that the culprit had stacked a 26 quart cooler and concrete blocks beneath a bathroom window, tore down the window screen, then pried open the window in order gain access.
The resident discovered that a 32” Emerson television had been stolen. With the TV in hand, the culprit then apparently fled through an exterior door. Loss and damages were estimated to be $430.
The case currently remains under investigation through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with pertinent information is encouraged to contact the department at 931-762-2276.
