The Maury County Fire Department responded over the weekend to a car port containing a vehicle, and a boat fully engulfed in flames.

According to the Maury County Fire Department units with Engines 1, 7, 9, 10, Tankers 1 & 3, Rescue 1, District Chief 1, and Safety Officer Bryan along with SO Bryan and Engine 10 were all dispatched to a car port fire on Clara Mathis Road.

Upon arrival units discovered that an attached car port with a vehicle, boat, and other items was fully engulfed in flames that extended into the basement. 

The first crews to arrive quickly conducted a knock down from the exterior until all the additional responding units could arrive where firefighters had originally received the call at 10:30 p.m., and to ensure that the blaze didn't rekindle they operated until 2:30 a.m.

The homeowners were displaced by the fire where they are being assisted by Red Cross, and at this time no further details regarding the cause of the fire has been reported.
