Gate At Park Vandalized
Lawrenceburg Police Officers were summoned to generate a report Saturday when it was discovered that someone had smashed into a gate at Bobby Brewer Memorial Park during the annual Liberty Day Celebration.
Lawrenceburg Fire Department Inspector Shelton Barnett met officers at a gate at the north entrance to the park around 2:30 p.m. He reported that the gate had apparently been damaged when a car crashed into it, rendering them unable to secure the gate.
Workers who were setting up the city’s fireworks display witnessed the crash. They reported that the driver of a small red car traveled through the park and struck the gate. The driver then backed up and left. They reported the driver may have been a teenager.
Damages were estimated to total $500.
