A Traffic stop conducted by a Lawrence County Deputy resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, and cash.
According to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department a traffic stop was conducted on Wednesday near the Summertown area by Deputy Eric Caperton after noticing a motorist commit a traffic violation.
The driver of the vehicle, James Brown II, stepped out of his car with methamphetamine in his hands possibility in a attempt to toss the drugs, but Deputy Caperton immediately noticed the narcotics where he placed Brown under arrest.
After Brown was placed in handcuffs a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of more methamphetamine where the Deputy found 45 grams in all, and approximately $2,600 in cash.
Deputy Caperton arrested Brown on drug charges, and transported the suspect to the Lawrence County Jail without further incident.
