Vandal Pulls Up Tree By Roots
Vandals targeted a home in the Leoma area overnight Sunday, damaging a mailbox and destroying a tree.
A resident of Durrett Road reported the violation Monday morning to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
The resident indicated that sometime overnight, someone had bent the numeric marker on his mailbox, then tied something around a pine tree, pulling it from the ground by the roots.
Altogether, the resident estimated damages to total $800.
Investigation into the crime is on-going at the present time by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
