Mother Charged With Assaulting Son

   A Loretto woman was arrested Wednesday on charges that she assaulted her son.

   According to reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, deputies received information from an eye witness who stated that a resident of 1368 Highway 101, Loretto,  had choked her sixteen-year-old son the previous night, then made threats against his life.

   When they questioned the youngster, deputies indicate he admitted the incident had occurred. He was transported to the Youth Services Office, and the Department of Children Services was notified.

   Mary Elvie Cable, age 57, was placed under arrest and booked through the Lawrence County Jail under charges of domestic assault. She is scheduled for an initial court appearance through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on July 16.
