Mr. Greg Burleson Appointed Principal of Summertown High School
The Lawrence County School System is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Greg Burleson as Principal of Summertown High School.
Mr. Burleson began his educational career in 1999 as a Business Education teacher at Summertown High School. In 2006, he accepted an administrative role as Assistant Principal at E.O. Coffman Middle School, where he served until 2008. He returned to Summertown High School that same year and has served as Assistant Principal for 11 of the past 17 years.
In addition to his leadership in the classroom and administrative office, Mr. Burleson has coached baseball, softball, and cross country throughout his 26-year career. He most recently earned his Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) certification while serving as the school’s Athletic Director.
Mr. Burleson is married to Kelly Burleson, a teacher at Summertown Elementary. They have two daughters: Anisten, who will begin her teaching career at Southside Elementary in Pulaski, and Reagan, who attends Columbia State Community College and is a member of the Chargers softball team.
