Friend Fails To Return With Resident's Truck
Law enforcement officers were called to a Leoma home Tuesday where the complainant reported that an acquaintance had failed to return a vehicle.
The complainant told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department that the vehicle in question belonged to his mother. He said that at 10:00 a.m. he had given the acquaintance $20 to go to a convenience store and put gas in his mother's 2001 Dodge 1500 truck, but that he never returned.
The complainant stated that after several hours he called the man who told him that he was in Paris, Tennessee. He said he had left the truck in the driveway with the keys inside.
Deputies noted that the title to the truck had gone missing, as well.
The matter currently remains under investigation.
