Lawrenceburg District Trooper Placed On Leave Following Rape Allegations
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported Saturday that a Lawrenceburg District Trooper had been placed on leave after being arrested by Lewis County authorities amidst rape and assault allegations.
According to a Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security press release, Hohenwald police charged William Hobbs, age 48, with felony rape and a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault. He was later released from custody under a bond of $5,000.
A ten-year department veteran, Hobbs was placed on discretionary leave shortly after his arrest. An internal investigation was subsequently opened to identify any possible violations of THP’s polices and procedures.
