Mom Arraigned For Child Neglect
A Lawrence County woman was arraigned in Lawrence County Circuit Court Monday morning after having been indicted on charges of aggravated child neglect.
Phillip Blake Putnam, age 22, was charged in October of last year with fracturing the arm of his four-month-old son. He was arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse after Lawrenceburg Police Officers were summoned to the emergency room at Crockett Hospital to investigate the crime. Putnam later entered into a plea bargain agreement, entering a guilty plea to the lesser charge of attempted child neglect. He was sentenced to serve eight years incarcerated through the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
Members of a Lawrence County Grand Jury subsequently issued indictments against the youngster’s mother, Sandi Airelle Putnam of 476 Scenic Road. She was arrested on the warrants on May 27, charging her with aggravated child neglect.
Sandi Putnam was required to appear in Lawrence County Circuit Court Monday for arraignment proceedings. She is next scheduled to appear in court on Monday, August 9, 2010.
