Church Cemetery Vandalized
Hundreds of dollars in damages were reported after vandals targeted a local cemetery last week.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were called to Macedonia Baptist Church on Saturday after the discovery was made.
The complainant reported that vandals had removed and tossed aside several flags that had been placed on the graves of veterans then kicked over several flower vases, damaging them.
The complainant was uncertain exactly when the crime had occurred. He estimated damages to total $500.
