Lawrence County Commissioner Chris D. Jackson, who is a member of the county's Economic and Community Development Committee, said, "The continued drop in the unemployment rate is a welcomed trend for our county. While this does represent steady progress, we still have much work to do to make sure every citizen has the opportunity to live, work and raise their family here in Lawrence County. Now is not the time to celebrate, but rather work even harder to make this a reality."
