Former Coffee County Tennessee inmates have been targeted in a recent scam.

The Coffee County Tennessee Sheriff reports that they have been receiving calls regarding individuals who were released from the jail getting calls from scammers who are impersonating bonding companies.

The scammers are telling the former inmates that they owe money to the bonding company and need to pay the balance or they will be taken back to jail.

The sheriff is warning victims not give these people any information and If you receive a call contact your bonding company through verified numbers that you should have received upon release.
