Teen Pedestrian Arrested In Connection With Business Burglary
A teenager found walking in the vicinity of a business that had been burglarized last weekend was later arrested for committing the crime.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department made contact with Jonathan Steven Ray Clark, 28, of 502 Jane Drive walking south along South Locust Avenue at around 2:00 a.m. Saturday. They report having Clark empty his pockets to check for weapons.
Reports show that he had several vapor smoke items on his person at the time. Officers checked for outstanding warrants after which Clark was allowed to leave.

Around fifteen minutes later officers conducting a safety sweep discovered that the back door of Lawrenceburg Vapors was standing open. They report, “It was clear that vandalism, burglary and theft had been committed.” The side door, they said, had been pried open.
The owner responded to the scene and later determined that several vapor smoke items were missing.
After searching for Clark for a time, officers report he was located walking along North Locust Avenue. They report finding a number of vapor smoke items inside his backpack.
Clark told officers that he had been walking home from The Coffee House on Second Street when he decided, “He would break in and take some stuff.” He said after gaining entry he searched cabinets and closets and took some things.
Clark had reportedly left several of the stolen items at a friend’s house. They were recovered and returned to the owner. The friend reportedly had no knowledge of the crime.
Clark was incarcerated on charges of theft and vandalism. He will make a preliminary appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on June 5, 2014.
